Despite trailing their competitors on Saturday by two goals, Borussia Dortmund managed to earn a point. Borussia Dortmund fans went crazy after Anthony Modeste’s last-second equalizer against Bayern Munich. Modeste has had trouble with the Black and Yellow in his first season, but his performance here gives fans reason for optimism that he may still have an impact on the team’s front line. With their second-half goals, Youssoufa Moukoko and the seasoned attacker secured a thrilling comeback and a 2-2 draw.
Leon Goretzka and Leroy Sane gave the defending champions of Germany a 2-0 lead, but they weren’t at their best the entire game, and Dortmund always appeared to have a way back in.
In a game between these two teams, Moukoko, who is 17 years old, became the youngest player to score a Bundesliga goal.
They managed to stay one point behind the leaders and even with their hated rivals after Modeste, a young teammate, put up his teammate with some fantastic work on the ball late in the game. It’s another sad outcome for Julian Nagelsmann’s club in the German top division. Despite their outstanding Champions League performance, they have only won one of their previous six Bundesliga games.
The Performers:
Jamal Musiala: The German midfielder’s outstanding performance has continued. He was crucial for Bayern once more, helping them score both goals. Along with his five goals in the Bundesliga, he has now contributed seven assists across all competitions this season.
The 19-year-old has established himself as one of the most talented young players in the world, and Bayern will certainly value him more and more in the years to come.
Anthony Modeste: The 34-year-old, who was rushed into the team when Erling Haaland left and Sebastien Haller, who was slated to replace Haaland, received a cancer diagnosis, put up a decisive performance. When he got to the back post in stoppage time and headed past Manuel Neuer, he enthralled the home crowd.
He did brilliantly hold onto the ball and set up Moukoko for Borussia Dortmund’s opening goal. Edin Terzic’s team kept Dortmund and their fierce rivals tied on points, and it will be remembered as one of the best moments of the team’s season.
Leroy Sane: The Bayern forward recently demonstrated why Julian Nagelsmann’s recent statement that he is one of the best players in Europe and can add the cherry on top to any team in the globe is true.
Sane was among the finest players for Bayern, despite their lackluster first-half performance. His superb goal, his ninth of the year, from a distance to increase their lead in the second half capped off his performance.
The Losers:
Sadio Mane: This was one of the signing’s poorer performances since arriving at Bayern Munich in the summer. After significantly contributing to the 5-0 victory over Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League just a few days prior, he was completely unproductive versus Dortmund.
In the second half, Leon Goretzka put up a fantastic opportunity for him to score, but he missed it, and he provided nothing else going forward for the visitors. Mane appears to be having trouble adjusting to Bayern’s playing style and is far from his scorching Liverpool form.
Alphonso Davies: When Jude Bellingham booted the Canadian player in the face during the first half, the player suffered a serious injury. He had to be replaced, and according to accounts, he was transported to the hospital for what might have been a concussion.
As he competed for the ball, Davies appeared to have some eye injuries.
With the World Cup approaching, Canada’s supporters will be concerned about the severity of the injury to their star full-back.
Alexander Meyer: For Borussia Dortmund, the goalie has had some standout performances, but this was not one of them. Both goals were scored from a long distance and the 31-year-old put in a poor performance.
Sane’s goal will cause the shot-stopper great embarrassment because he touched the ball but was unable to stop it from going into the goal, putting his team at serious risk of losing the game.
