Liverpool and Man United in race for Sofyan Amrabat. Sofyan Amrabat, who has ties to Manchester United, is being considered by Liverpool as a Fabinho replacement. According to The Athletic, the Brazilian is close to leaving for Al-Ittihad of the Saudi Pro League.
Journalist Ben Jacobs claims that the 29-year-old has reached a personal agreement with Al-Ittihad and has been given Liverpool’s approval to undergo his physical. On Saturday, July 15, James Pearce of The Athletic also stated that the Merseyside team had received a £40 million bid from the Saudi Arabian club.
According to reports, Amrabat of Fiorentina has been mentioned as a possible midfield replacement for Liverpool. Manchester United, a Reds’ Premier League foe, has also been rumored to be interested in signing the Moroccan international.
The Serie A team is reportedly seeking almost €30 million for their talent, according to Metro. Due to a lack of proposals around the €35 million mark, Fiorentina has chosen to cut its player worth.
The 26-year-old has a deal with his present team through 2024, but he has said he would prefer to play in the Premier League or La Liga (via Gazzetta dello Sport). Amrabat has so far made 107 appearances for Fiorentina in all leagues.
Clubs are still considering moving to Amrabat, but no bids have been made. According to METRO, the Red Devils are not expected to make any moves until later in the window.
Despite Liverpool rumors, Louis Saha supports Sofyan Amrabat’s move to Manchester United:
According to former Manchester United great Louis Saha, Erik ten Hag’s system would suit Sofyan Amrabat. The Athletic reports that Liverpool, a rival of the Red Devils, have also been mentioned as prospective suitors for the Moroccan international.
In a recent interview with Betfred, the former Premier League striker said (per METRO): “Amrabat is a guy I appreciate, and I don’t think there’s anyone who can equal his high-intensity level. He would add to the team’s overall balance and it would be exciting to see him join Manchester United. We require strength that can enable us to surprise teams, as well as legs, energy, and strength.”
The Manchester team will need reinforcements in the middle of the park because Fred has been connected to a transfer away to Galatasaray or Fulham (via Football 365).
