Arsenal trying to sign Man City loanee Joao Cancelo. The agency of Joao Cancelo, who is on loan from Manchester City and is a target for Barcelona, has been contacted by Premier League powerhouse Arsenal.
Cancelo, a right-back on loan from Manchester City to Bayern Munich, has been linked to Arsenal for a while. The future of the Portuguese fullback with the club is still up in the air, although he is scheduled to return to the Etihad Stadium in July. He was loaned out after Nathan Ake won his position. The circumstance is unlikely to change in the upcoming season given how effectively Ake has been playing lately.
Cancelo has drawn interest from both Barcelona and the Gunners, with renowned Italian writer Fabrizio Romano saying that the Blaugrana are currently in the lead in the race to sign him. Although there had been discussions between Arsenal and Cancelo’s agency, according to Romano’s most recent column for Caught Offside, they were not the front-runners to sign him.
Romano wrote: “All I can say right now is that Arsenal like Cancelo, and there have been talks between the club and the player’s agent, but Barcelona is the favorite.”
According to Romano, Arsenal is now negotiating with Ajax to get Jurrien Timber. The versatile center-back’s contract with Ajax expires in two years, and the North London team is willing to pay £30 million to get his services. The journalist believes that Mikel Arteta’s team will need to spend more than that, though, to secure their man.
Adrien Rabiot, a target for Manchester United, is not signed by Barcelona: “Adrien Rabiot, a midfielder for Juventus who will be a free agent at the end of the month, is now the subject of rumors over his future. The French midfielder’s entourage reportedly gave Barcelona the chance to sign him, but the team declined, according to Spanish writer Gerard Romero.”
Manchester United, who have been considering the midfielder for a long, should benefit from Barca’s choice. Atletico Madrid is also thought to be in the running alongside Manchester United, but Rabiot’s pay demands might prevent Los Rojiblancos from progressing forward.
The former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) midfielder had a successful time playing for the Bianconeri at the Allianz Stadium. Between the 2019–20 and 2022–23 seasons, he made 177 appearances for Juventus, scoring 17 goals and dishing out 12 assists.
