Italy won the UEFA Euro 2020 final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday by defeating England in a penalty shootout. Italy won the shootout 3–2 with a score of 1–1 in extra time. Earlier in the day, Luke Shaw gave England an early lead, with Leonardo Bonucci equalizing in the second half. Italy received praises from all over the world and players also react to their Euro 2020 win.
Italian captain Giorgio Chiellini took over Twitter to tweet about Italy’s win after 52 years. He wrote: “The result is only part of the game but this result, this victory, these tears of joy are dedicated to you. We made history! FORZA AZZURRI”

Juventus forward Federico Chiesa on Instagram posted a picture of him kissing the trophy writing Champions in Italian with his nation’s flag icon in the caption.

Italy’s 2006 FIFA World Cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro took to Instagram to post a video of his country’s trophy celebrations. He captioned it in Italian, which translates as “we are European champions”. In the video, Italian captain Giorgio Chiellini can be seen receiving the trophy and then celebrating with his teammates.

Italy defender Leonardo Bonucci has published a picture with the trophy from his victory over England in the Euro 2020 final.
