West Ham United advanced to the last eight of the Europa League courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Sevilla at London Stadium, winning the tie 2-1 on aggregate.
In the first half, Soucek put the Hammers ahead on the night with a towering header from Michail Antonio’s cross.
However, David Moyes’s men pressed the Spanish outfit, and they could not find a winner in normal time.
The contest appeared to be heading towards penalties until Andriy Yarmolenko slotted home a strike on the rebound to book West Ham’s place in the quarter-finals.

1-0 WEST HAM ON THE NIGHT, 1-1 ON AGGREGATE. To find the top-left corner, Soucek produces a towering header at the back post from Antonio’s cross. West Ham break, and Benrahma feeds Antonio in the box. The chance looks past, but the forward digs out a satisfactory left-footed delivery for Soucek. The midfielder rises above Augustinsson to plant his header into the back of the net.
YARMOLENKO SCORES ON THE REBOUND, WEST HAM LED THE TIE 2-1. The Ukraine international is on the spot for his team to convert on the rebound after Fornals’ strike was saved. Fornals probes down the left flank and cuts inside to shoot on his right foot. Bounou makes a fine stop to push his effort away, but Yarmolenko is first to the rebound and slots a left-footed effort into the net.

West Ham United is next in action in the Premier League on Sunday against Tottenham on the road.
