Glen Johnson suggests signing £51 million-rated attacker. Glen Johnson, a former Liverpool defender, has encouraged the team to bring in Federico Chiesa from Juventus this summer. He thinks the Serie A team’s stated £51 million asking price is fair and that signing the player for the Reds would be a wise decision.
Liverpool has been connected with numerous players as they attempt to strengthen their assault. To give Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz some competition, boss Jurgen Klopp reportedly has Chiesa on his radar.
Johnson asserted in a Betfred interview that Chiesa would be a fantastic addition to Liverpool. He continued by saying that the Italian would bring experience and wouldn’t cost the Reds a lot of money.
He said: “He is a talented athlete who competes for a major club and has achieved success at the international level. He hasn’t only been a team player; he has also contributed when necessary. If Liverpool can get him and doesn’t have to spend a fortune to do so, I think it would be a really smart move.”
He added: “If they can sign him for a fair price, then that’s a transfer I’d like to see happen,” the fan said of the player. “I think he’s a player that would improve Liverpool’s squad.”
The Reds might try to sign another forward if Roberto Firmino leaves this summer.
Despite Liverpool’s interest, Federico Chiesa is hesitant about leaving Juventus:
When asked about his future at Juventus, Federico Chiesa did not respond with confidence. He insisted that the holidays were his primary priority and that football would resume whenever he returned.
He has acknowledged that he will, however, only consider Juventus while he is a member of the Italian team. As Chiesa stated on Sky Italia:
“I’m pleased with how I performed; it was a challenging year for me. I’m only considering the holidays right now. Then, starting with the summer training camp, I’ll begin preparing for the upcoming season. Getting back to me? We shall see. While at Juventus, I’m considering Juventus.”
Chiesa seems healthy after only recently recovering from an ACL injury. Last year, he only played 843 minutes in the league while only scoring twice.
According to CalcioMercato, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Bayern Munich, and Chelsea are also monitoring the issue. According to their reports, Juventus was prepared to offer £30 million for the Italian, but due to interest from several teams, they increased their demand to £51 million.
The Old Lady has already parted ways with Juan Cuadrado and Angel di Maria in preparation for a team reorganization this summer.
