Cristiano Ronaldo asked to reduce wages for European Clubs. Cristiano Ronaldo is a free agent, but Italian football agent Silvio Pagliari has stated that no club should sign him at his present salary. Last month, Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Manchester United had just over six months left. To many people’s disappointment, he left Old Trafford too soon as a result of a series of events.
In the summer of 2021, Ronaldo returned to the Red Devils, 12 years after leaving for Real Madrid. In his first season back in the Premier League, he continued exactly where he left off, scoring 18 goals. However, when the 37-year-old became frustrated with the team’s failure to earn a spot in the UEFA Champions League, things started to go south. He tried to leave Old Trafford in the summer because of it but to no effect.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner then discovered that Erik ten Hag had cut back on his playing time. When Manchester United defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in October, he famously stormed off the field rather than use a substitute. The English titans and Ten Hag were then the targets1 of Ronaldo’s vicious criticism in an interview with Piers Morgan. It led to the club canceling his contract just before he started representing Portugal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup last month.
The Portuguese legend has so far had trouble finding a home in Europe, even as a free agent. As things stand, only the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr has expressed a genuine interest in hiring him. Pagliari justified Ronaldo’s current predicament by saying that he is no longer worth investing in. The Italian agency claimed that if the forward does not accept a major pay cut, he will have to settle for a move to the Middle East.
He remarked to CalcioMercato.com: “At those prices, it makes no financial sense to invest in Cristiano Ronaldo, and no European team can afford to sign him. He will either choose to downsize or put an end to his career in a joyful oasis.”
