Mohamed Salah’s agent says Salah met PSG president. The agent of Mohamed Salah, a forward for Liverpool, Ramy Abbas Issa, has refuted reports that the Egyptian recently spoke with Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of Paris Saint-Germain.
Salah and Al-Khelaifi reportedly met recently in Morocco, according to a Sports Zone article from earlier this week. Since the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the two are said to have been in touch frequently, raising the possibility that they will move together.
Salah’s representative, in response to a tweet from GetFootballNewsFrance, downplayed those reports: “He didn’t, no. The brief story is that.”
Only in July of last year did the Liverpool forward agree to a new deal with the Reds. Since moving to Merseyside in 2017, he has been the center of attention for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
In the recently finished 2022–23 season, the 31-year-old scored 30 goals and provided 16 assists in 51 games across all competitions. He was unable to assist the Anfield juggernauts in securing a top-four finish and a re-entry into the UEFA Champions League.
Salah’s response on Twitter when Klopp’s team finished fifth and was demoted to the Europa League was disappointing. He apologized to the crowd and said: “I’m completely heartbroken. There is no justification at all for this. We had everything we had to qualify for the Champions League the next year, but we fell short.”
After winning the Ligue 1 championship, PSG will participate in the Champions League the following year. They might succeed even though Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi are absent.
When his contract ends at the end of the month, Messi is leaving the Parc des Princes. The Argentine legend will play for MLS team Inter Miami.
Mbappe’s future with the Parisians is currently in jeopardy after he confirmed in a letter that he would be leaving in 2024. He allegedly has been added to the transfer list.
Therefore, many have concluded that Salah’s meeting with Al-Khelaifi was in anticipation of the Liverpool attacker replacing the Frenchman. But his agent has thrown cold water on that notion.
The likelihood of Kylian Mbappe joining Liverpool is downplayed by Danny Murphy:
The likelihood of the Reds acquiring Mbappe is minimized. Danny Murphy, a former midfielder for Liverpool, believes the Reds have little chance of acquiring PSG attacker Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman has written a letter to the club and is slinking towards the exit door at Parc des Princes.
The 24-year-old should likely transfer to their bitter rival Manchester United this summer, according to Murphy, who told talkSPORT: “He will not travel to Liverpool. United is the more sensible choice, but I don’t believe he would go there. He doesn’t seem to desire to travel to England. He would be of assistance to them; without a question, he is a gifted football player.”
This season, Mbappe has been one of Europe’s top forwards, tallying 41 goals in 43 games across all competitions. According to reports, the forward and Klopp spoke before the latter joined PSG in 2017.
