Vinicius Jr sends a message to Benzema before leaving. Following news that Karim Benzema will leave Real Madrid this summer, Vinicius Junior offered a loving greeting to the player.
There has been a lot of discussion lately about the Frenchman’s potential future at Santiago Bernabeu. The club has now formally announced that it will depart before the start of the upcoming campaign.
From an excerpt: “Karim Benzema and Real Madrid Football Club have decided to end his magnificent and illustrious career as a player at our club.”
Vinicius posted a photo of the two of them on Instagram along with a touching statement after learning of Benzema’s departure. Through @TheMadridZone, it stated: “Vinzema, Benzvini, whatever. The outcome has consistently been the same: objectives, humor, titles, and, most importantly, learning. You were the first to welcome me when I arrived in Madrid in 2018 as the bashful lad from So Gonçalo. I won’t soon forget.”
He added: “I was a child with you. Together, we conquered the world, Europe, and Spain. And I got to congratulate him on his Ballon d’Or. We will miss you a lot. I appreciate everything, Legend.”
The majority of any outfield player in his career, Vinicius has played 185 games alongside Benzema since joining Los Merengues in the summer of 2018. The two have scored 42 goals together, including three in a memorable 4-0 Copa del Rey quarterfinal victory over Barcelona (a 4-1) in April.
The title was ultimately won by Los Merengues. At the club, the two have combined to win nine titles, including the UEFA Champions League last year.
Karim Benzema will be available for Real Madrid’s final match of the current campaign, according to Carlo Ancelotti:
Later today (June 4), Real Madrid will play Athletic Bilbao in a league match at the Santiago Bernabeu to conclude their campaign.
The 35-year-old is already set to play against the Basque team, according to Carlo Ancelotti. According to ESPN, the Italian strategist said the following before the game: “Benzema is prepared for tomorrow’s game. His contract still has one more year left. In this case, I believe there are no questions.”
Even though Barcelona has already won La Liga, the matchup between Real Madrid and Ernesto Valverde’s team has the potential to go down in club history as a significant turning point. It might be the last time Real Madrid supporters see Benzema wearing a team uniform.
Since joining them in the summer of 2009, the renowned French forward has amassed a total of 353 goals and 165 assists in 647 appearances. Al-Ittihad has reportedly made the former Lyon striker a $400 million bid spread over two seasons, according to GOAL.
