Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets on Ronaldo’s move. Cristiano Ronaldo, according to a Barcelona veteran, will raise the standard of the SPL. One of the most recent figures to weigh in on Cristiano Ronaldo’s winter move to Al-Nassr is Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets.
The legendary Portuguese player officially signed a lucrative two-and-a-half-year contract with the Saudi Pro League team. At his new team, he is anticipated to earn €200 million in yearly earnings.
After his abrupt departure from Manchester United in November, he made the switch. Ronaldo declared that he had accomplished everything in Europe and that the moment was ripe to join Al-Nassr upon joining his new team.
Ronaldo said: “I am lucky that I have won all I set out to win in European football and feel that this is the proper moment.” The 37-year-departure old’s to the Middle East appears to be his last to European football. The top league in Saudi Arabia is a less-traveled route for aging superstars.
Busquets, however, thinks Ronaldo’s arrival will significantly improve the league. The Spaniard, who faced off against Ronaldo 38 times, recently provided the following statement to BarcaTV+: “Has Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nasr? He will improve the Saudi league’s calibre. I’m hoping for the best for Ronaldo and his new squad.”
This summer, Busquets’ future in Barcelona will come to a decision point. The 34-year-old must decide whether he wants to stay in Europe or play for a team outside of Europe, just like Cristiano Ronaldo did earlier this season.
The midfielder’s contract is up in six months, although manager Xavi Hernandez has stated that he will remain at least through the end of the current campaign. At this moment, it is unclear what will occur after that because the player has already been connected to a transfer to MLS.
