Man United is interested in former PSG star Moussa Diaby. Moussa Diaby, a former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and current Bayer Leverkusen forward, is supposedly a target for Manchester United.
The Daily Mail claims that the Red Devils have identified Diaby as a target ahead of the forthcoming summer transfer season. Diaby can play on either wing. Newcastle United and Arsenal have both been connected to the Frenchman.
The report also stated that Manchester United’s priorities for this summer do not include strengthening the wings. Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri are relatively inexperienced possibilities, and Jadon Sancho’s poor play may prompt the team to pursue Diaby.
Sancho’s 2022–23 season output was only seven goals and three assists in 41 games in all competitions. Amad Diallo, who is returning, is only 20 years old, while Garnacho and Pellistri are each 18 and 21 years old.
After progressing through the levels at PSG and making their first squad in 2018, Diaby, 23, joined Leverkusen in the summer of 2019. Only 13 of Diaby’s 34 appearances for the Parisians during the 2018–19 season were starts, but his contributions of four goals and seven assists were still impressive.
The alleged Manchester United target’s decision to relocate to Germany has paid off handsomely. Since signing a deal with Leverkusen that runs through 2025, Diaby has played 172 times, recording 49 goals and 48 assists.
He had a standout 2022–23 season, contributing to 33 Bundesliga games with nine goals and the same number of assists. The forward also had an average of 1.5 dribbles, 1.8 critical passes, and 79% passing accuracy.
Additionally, Diaby has ten caps for France and was a member of the group that won the UEFA Nations League in 2020–21.
Interested in Jeremie Frimpong is Manchester United:
In recent weeks, players from Bayer Leverkusen have been linked with Manchester United in addition to Moussa Diaby. The Red Devils are also interested in Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong, claims trade expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano tweeted the update, saying: “With his agency having visited with Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United roughly two months ago, Jeremie Frimpong is still a player to watch this summer. Although Bayer Leverkusen wants to keep him, they are aware of interest from major clubs.”
In 48 games across tournaments, Frimpong, who was notably a member of Manchester City’s development systems, excelled for Leverkusen. He scored nine goals and provided 11 assists. Together with Diaby, the right-back’s sixth-place Bundesliga result enabled the German team to earn a spot in the UEFA Europa League for the upcoming season.
The 22-year-old Frimpong, who joined Leverkusen from Celtic during the 2021 winter transfer window, is also under contract there through 2025.
