Chris Sutton predicts Liverpool vs Tottenham. Chris Sutton, a former England striker who is now a television pundit, has predicted the outcome of Liverpool’s Premier League match versus Tottenham Hotspur on April 30. Jurgen Klopp’s Reds and fifth-placed Spurs will square off in a crucial match at Anfield.
Tottenham Hotspur overcame a 2-0 deficit to hold Manchester United to a 2-2 draw at home during the middle of the week. In contrast, the Reds have recently improved their form after a poor season. They overcame a 1-0 deficit to defeat West Ham United 2-1 towards the middle of the week.
Sutton, a former Premier League champion striker, predicts that Klopp’s team will defeat Spurs 3-1 on Sunday. He wrote the following in his BBC Sport column: “In some respects, Tottenham will benefit from Liverpool’s strategy since Jurgen Klopp’s team will control the ball and Trent Alexander-Arnold will open up space behind him in the middle of the pitch in his new inverted role. Spurs showed some resiliency to rally for a draw against Manchester United, but given how bad they have been this season, I simply can’t support them to win this.”
The former Celtic forward continued: “Liverpool are winning three straight games and still hope to finish in the top four. The Reds must win each of their remaining games to have any chance of doing that, and even that likely won’t be enough.”
The Reds are unbeaten in this matchup since a 4-1 loss in 2017, and they have only lost one of their past 20 Premier League games versus Spurs.
The Merseyside giants prevailed 1-2 in the reverse match. Harry Kane scored one goal for the Lilywhites, while Mohamed Salah scored twice for the Reds.
Tottenham and Liverpool will battle for the services of a 23-year-old defender:
According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur will compete with Liverpool for the services of Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka this summer.
The French center-back will quit the German team when his contract expires in the summer, according to Football Insider. Numerous Premier League teams are rumored to be interested in the free-agent defender who won the Europa League. Following disappointing seasons, it is believed that both Liverpool and Tottenham are looking to strengthen their defensive units.
Ndicka joined Eintracht Frankfurt in 2018 from Auxerre and has since proven himself to be a reliable defender. He has currently made 177 appearances for the Bundesliga team and has contributed 10 assists along with 11 goals.
