Man City and European giants interested in Kai Havertz. According to reports, Kai Havertz, a forward for Chelsea, has informed the Blues that he wants to leave the team this summer. According to Jacob Steinberg, a few prestigious sides are already keeping an eye on his position.
The recently finished 2022–23 football season saw the German international struggle, along with a few other Chelsea first-team players.
Havertz finished the previous campaign for the West London club with a total of nine goals and one assist in 47 appearances across all competitions.
The 24-year-old has, however, spent the majority of his time in west London playing as a false nine. Remember that Havertz is most suited as an attacking midfielder, but due to his adaptability, he has played in several positions.
Former Chelsea head coaches Thomas Tuchel, Frank Lampard, and Graham Potter have all utilized him as a striker as a result.
After three seasons at the Stamford Bridge-based club, the player has now informed the team of his desire to depart this summer.
Havertz joined the Blues in the summer of 2020 for an estimated £75.8 million transfer fee, making him one of the most expensive acquisitions in club history.
Even though the German hasn’t quite reached his full potential at Chelsea, the Premier League powerhouses are reportedly expecting a similar sum from teams interested in signing the player.
Several elite teams, including Real Madrid of Spain, have reportedly expressed interest in signing the 24-year-old attacker.
According to reports, the midfielder is also being pursued by Manchester City and Arsenal, two powerhouses in the Premier League. Bayern Munich is reportedly interested, so a move back to his native Germany cannot be completely ruled out.
Recalling the time Chelsea star Kai Havertz said he likes to play the number 9 position:
The German attacker Kai Havertz is undoubtedly one of the Blue’s first team’s most adaptable players. The 24-year-old has proven his versatility in attack and midfield by playing in a variety of roles.
However, the number nine or false nine positions has to be one with which he is quite familiar from his time at Chelsea.
Havertz has frequently found himself leading the line for the Blues despite being a midfielder who likes to attack. In an interview from the previous season, he also stated that he prefers playing as a striker.
In an interview that was posted to Chelsea’s official website following his team’s 3-1 victory over Leicester City in March of this year, he discussed the position and said: “I enjoy my job here. I have a lot of freedom in this capacity, and I can go deeper.”
He continued: “Having such alternatives is fantastic, but I also enjoy playing as a number nine. I’m willing to do anything the manager asks of me for the team.”
