Erik ten Hag interested in Axel Disasi. According to reports, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will speak with AS Monaco center-back Axel Disasi about a potential summer transfer.
The Red Devils are in the lead to sign the France international, however, other Premier League clubs are also reportedly interested in him.
Axel Disasi established himself in Ligue 2 for the French team Reims, aiding them in winning the championship in 2017–18. He made 53 appearances before signing a five-year, €13 million contract with Monaco in 2020.
Since then, the 25-year-old has become increasingly successful. Disasi had a standout 2022–23 season, making 49 appearances across all competitions, contributing four assists, and scoring six goals. He aided Reims in maintaining 10 crisp sheets.
According to reports, Ten Hag and Co. are in the lead for his signing. However, they will have to move quickly because the Frenchman is also being pursued by other undisclosed Premier League clubs.
Although Monaco has not yet received an official offer, there are rumors that the Red Devils may intensify their pursuit of Disasi. This is because Ten Hag, who holds the player in “high regard,” intends to hold discussions to propose a transfer to Old Trafford.
If Manchester United wants to keep their center-back options open, they must move quickly. Kim Min-Jae of Napoli was a player the Red Devils were interested in, but Bayern Munich’s late interest makes it likely they won’t be able to sign him.
Axel Disasi would make a fantastic backup option for players like Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez if he were to join the team.
The second Mason Mount offer from Manchester United is rejected by Chelsea:
The Athletic reports that Chelsea has turned down Manchester United’s second offer for midfielder Mason Mount.
This season, Mount has experienced numerous injuries that have limited his participation to 35 games overall. He contributed six assists along with his three goals. Even though, the Blues’ season couldn’t be saved as they placed 12th in the Premier League standings.
Next summer, when the 24-year-old’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires, he can leave for Manchester United, according to reports. Mount has been identified by Erik ten Hag as a priority transfer owing to his inventiveness and work ethic, which would strengthen the Red Devils’ midfield.
The first offer, made by Manchester United, was for £40 million, but it was quickly turned down. According to reports, they submitted their second offer today (June 21), offering £45 million plus $5 million in add-ons. Chelsea has responded, demanding £60 million plus £5 million in bonuses for the England international.
Although a deal between the two clubs seems to be close at hand, the Red Devils have no intention of paying the Blues’ asking price.
