Jorginho has stated that he will vote for Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne to win the Ballon d’Or in 2021. After the football news with Robert Lewandowski on top, Jorginho may vote for De Bruyne to win the Ballon d’Or.
As for the man himself, Jorginho’s Italy, Italian national team, won Euro 2020 after also winning Champions League with Chelsea.
After receiving the Player of the Year award recently (football highlights), the Italian could win the 2021 Ballon d’Or too.
Indeed, he’s a favourite to win this prestigious prize, especially for Giorgio Chiellini, the captain of his Italian football team.
After all, he has had a stellar calendar year, including victories with Chelsea in the Champions League and Super Cup. As well as this, on the club level, on the international stage, Jorginho clinched the European Championships with Italy.
Jorginho May Vote for De Bruyne to Win the Ballon d’Or
But now, in an interview with ESPN Brazil, Jorginho quips that he doesn’t expect many votes for the and Ballon d’Or.
In fact, he ventures modestly, he would be tempted to vote for himself just to make sure he gets one.
“If I don’t vote for me, who will vote? I want to have at least one vote!” he laughed. “I’m just kidding.”
Then, Jorginho said: “I believe I’d vote for Kevin De Bruyne for everything he’s been doing and for the beautiful football he’s been showing in recent years. For those who like football, it’s great to see him play because he understands football, he is a player with above-average intelligence.”
But Jorginho himself has received widespread praise in recent months for his crucial role with both club and country.
All this, despite Jorginho originally being chastised for his lack of effect during his Chelsea spell.
“I’ve always tried to put my game in the Premier League, not the other way around,” Jorginho continued to say. “I learned the issue of physical contact and intensity.
“I put it in my style because I don’t have the physical build to want to go into the Premier League style of running and brawling. I get this, I try to insert it into my style of play.”
