Arsenal women’s team made a world-record offer to sign Alessia Russo. The women’s squad at Arsenal has made a record-breaking offer for Manchester United standout Alessia Russo. The unknown is the exact cost of the fee. However, it’s thought that Arsenal offered more than Barcelona did for Keira Walsh of Manchester City. For Walsh, the Blaugranas offered £400,000.
The previous summer’s UEFA Euro competition saw four goals from 23-year-old Russo. She is in the last year of her contract with Manchester United and a deal to extend it has not yet been reached. Arsenal is therefore trying to take advantage of the chance and improve their team. In addition to United, striker Russo has also played for Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion, and other groups throughout her career.
In a recent Premier League match, Arsenal’s men’s squad defeated Manchester United. The final score of the match at the Emirates was 3-2. For the Gunners, Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah each scored twice. For the Gunners, goals were scored by Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford.
Mikel Arteta said the following after the game: “It doesn’t get much better than that, though I’m not sure whether I’ve ever heard an atmosphere like that. We were pushing and pushing and pushing, but the goal didn’t come until the very end. Then, VAR made it even more challenging, but it was just electric, it was extremely emotional, it was incredibly passionate, and I loved it.”
Arteta responded to a question about the significance of the victory for the league leaders in the race for the championship: “Well, especially after getting back, winning the London derby away from home, how today we played a different game that has very different requirements and a way to play, heading down against such a team right away is incredibly dangerous because you are able to start to try to attack in forms that they are going to punish you.”
The Spanish strategist continued: “We got back into the game at 2-1, and then exactly what happened at Old Trafford happened again. At 2-1, we were completely in control of the game when they scored, and that is the point at which you will lose the game if you are not emotionally stable and/or intelligent enough to understand what the situation calls for. We did the exact opposite; we improved constantly, and as a result, we deservedly won the game.”
