FC Goa register its first win in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 as Spanish midfielder Alberto Noguera scored two goals while compatriot Jorge Ortiz scored one goal in Goa’s win while a suicide goal from East Bengal’s Croatian striker Antonio Perosevic also played a role. Apart from this mistake, Perosevic kept his East Bengal level over and over again by scoring two goals. Goa are ranked 11th with three points from four matches, while East Bengal are at the bottom 12th with two points from five matches, two draws and three losses.
A total of seven goals were scored in this thrilling football match. A total of five goals were scored in the first half and two in the second half. Midfielder Alberto Noguera scored the first goal in the 14th minute. After receiving a pass from Spanish right winger Jorge Ortiz, he hit a hard right footer from thirty yards and East Bengal goalkeeper Suvam Sen could not stop the ball from going over the goalpost despite diving to his right. This goal took Goa FC 1-0.
It was not much time for the Goa players to celebrate as Croatian striker Antonio Perosevic made a brilliant shot in the 26th minute to level East Bengal at 1-1. In the 32nd minute, Ortiz scored on a penalty kick to make the score 2-1 in favor of Goa. Slovenian midfielder Amir Dervicevic scored a goal from a short distance to the left of Goa’s box to make the score 2-2.
Goa again took the lead in the 44th minute. This time the goal for him was scored by East Bengal star Perosevic’s suicide goal and the score became 3-2. Perosevic scored his second goal in the 59th minute to make the score 3-3. During a counter-attack, Noguera scored a goal on Ortiz’s pass to make the score 4-3 in Goa’s favour.
