Eden Hazard’s play time was reduced by Carlo Ancelotti. Eden Hazard apparently received word from Carlo Ancelotti that his playing time at Real Madrid will be cut even more drastically the next year.
The Belgian international has struggled since joining Los Blancos in 2019 after leaving Chelsea for a reported €100 million plus add-ons. He has mostly been limited to playing a bit-part role from the bench as a result of injuries, which have diminished his effect at the club.
Hazard has only appeared in 10 different tournaments this season, starting just four. The 32-year-old has been informed by Ancelotti that he will play even less football next season, which is probably going to be his last at the Santiago Bernabeu, according to Diario AS.
Real Madrid is rumored to be eager to remove Hazard from their payroll, but despite Ancelotti’s decision, he is adamant about staying. The former Chelsea winger acknowledged earlier this season that he wasn’t on speaking terms with the Italian coach.
In March, Hazard stated to the Belgian news station RTBF: “We respect each other, says Ancelotti. I won’t say that we converse, though, because we don’t. However, respect will always exist.”
According to MARCA, the Real Madrid winger reportedly earns €15 million a year at the Bernabeu. The La Liga giants may need to look for a new winger to create competition for Rodrygo Goes and Vinicius Junior if Ancelotti doesn’t trust Hazard.
Brahim Diaz, who can play as a winger, is expected to return from his loan stint at AC Milan while Marco Asensio may depart as a free agent this summer.
Carlo Ancelotti of Real Madrid is not lost in Brazil:
The head of the Brazil Football Federation, Ednaldo Rodrigues, has underlined the desire of the South American behemoths to choose Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager.
Since Tite resigned after his side was eliminated in the 2022 FIFA World Cup quarterfinals, Brazil has been without a permanent head coach. They are now under interim management by Ramon Menezes.
In a recent interview, Rodrigues stated, according to Tribal Football: “We appreciate all of Brazil’s competent coaches, but we have a backup plan, and that is Ancelotti. We have a gut instinct that it will succeed. He and the Brazilian national squad, in my opinion, get along well. He is a fan of Brazilian football and is familiar with most of the players that have played for and are currently on the national team.”
Under the current Real Madrid manager, players like Eder Militao, Casemiro, Rodrygo Goes, Vinicius Junior, and Richarlison have all recently competed.
