Real Madrid duo will not join Zinedine Zidane at Juventus. Karim Benzema and Luka Modric of Real Madrid are said to have turned down the opportunity to potentially join Zinedine Zidane at Juventus.
According to El Nacional, Juve won’t retain Massimiliano Allegri for the upcoming campaign. Zidane is now taking a break after leaving Real Madrid in 2021, but he is reportedly drawn to the idea of taking over as manager of the Old Lady.
He would have preferred to have two of his former Real Madrid teammates with him if he had arrived at the Allianz Stadium. The 35-year-old Benzema, whose deal with Los Blancos expires in June, is the first. Under Zidane, the French attacker thrived, tallying 108 goals in 217 games in all competitions.
Given his contract’s expiration, advanced age, and fitness concerns, Benzema’s future with Madrid is in doubt. An unknown Saudi Pro League team is said to have made the Frenchman an absurd contract offer.
Benzema’s disinterest in joining Juventus is something that Zidane is fully aware of. It will either be Ligue 1 or the Premier League if the striker leaves Los Merengues and stays in Europe.
In the meantime, Modric’s Real Madrid contract is set to end in June. Since joining Los Blancos in 2012, the Croatian midfielder has been a constant in the team. This season, he made 51 appearances and contributed six goals and six assists.
According to the article, Modric, 37, has reportedly rejected a transfer to the Old Lady and is being courted by the Saudi Pro League. His future at the Santiago Bernabeu is uncertain in light of Jude Bellingham’s anticipated arrival from Borussia Dortmund.
Zidane’s former players are not drawn to the thought of joining the Serie A club if he does succeed Allegri. They received a 10-point deduction, which means they will not participate in Champions League football the next season.
Karim Benzema of Real Madrid has been hailed by Zidane as the greatest striker in the annals of French football:
After an outstanding 2021–2022 season with Real Madrid, Benzema won the 2022 Ballon d’Or. The Frenchman finished both the league’s and the Champions League’s leading scorer with 44 goals in 46 games.
The seasoned striker led Los Blancos to both the Champions League trophy and the Spanish League championship. After winning the Ballon d’Or, Zidane praised the attacker for his outstanding season. When asked if Benzema was the greatest forward in French history, he responded as reported by CNN: “Yes, for me. In addition to what he accomplishes and displays, he has worked for Real Madrid for a considerable amount of time. His record, which includes more than 500 games and all of his goals, speaks for itself. He is the finest to me. It is extremely obvious.”
The legendary strikers from France include Jean-Pierre Papin, Thierry Henry, and Eric Cantona. However, because of his consistency at the highest level, Benzema may be considered the French game’s apex.
