Manchester United is not happy with Brandon Williams. Brandon Williams’ remarks following Manchester City’s UEFA Champions League victory anger Manchester United.
According to ESPN’s Rob Dawson, the Red Devils are separating themselves from Williams’ Instagram story posts. After City’s victory, he fired shots at Red Devils legend Rio Ferdinand, who was commentating on the match for BT Sport.
The manager and several players on Pep Guardiola’s squad received plaudits from the former United captain. Williams, 22, wasn’t overly thrilled by Ferdinand’s response to the Cityzens triumph in Europe.
He wrote numerous things on Instagram, one of which was critical of the former Manchester United defender: “(Ferdinand) Bet you wouldn’t celebrate yourself if you had been a participant; maintain your morality. Too-faced people are dull.
That was the first of many posts from Williams that the Old Trafford team allegedly “did not welcome.” He continued to make fun of the fans who reacted to his remarks.
Manchester City created history by becoming the second English football team to win a continental treble, following in the footsteps of Manchester United. The Guardiola team also won the Premier League and defeated the Red Devils 2-1 in the FA Cup final.
Williams struggled throughout Erik Ten Hag’s tenure despite receiving little playing time. Due to his lack of fitness and the strong play of Diogo Dalot, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia, he only made one League Cup appearance.
Mason Mount is anticipated to get a formal approach from Manchester United:
Mason Mount, a midfielder for Chelsea, is the subject of a rumored bid from Manchester United.
Even though the two Premier League heavyweights have very different valuations, a proposal is reportedly about to be submitted, according to Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports (via Caught Offside). With one year remaining on his contract, Mount’s departure from Stamford Bridge this summer seems increasingly imminent.
In 35 games across tournaments, the 24-year-old struggled with his form this season, scoring three goals and providing six assists. To strengthen his team in preparation for a Champions League campaign, Ten Hag appears to be interested in the dynamic playmaker.
Mount has played a key role for Chelsea over the years, with 37 assists and 33 goals in 195 games in all competitions. His downward slide and the tumultuous Blues season both occurred at the same time, and he finished the year as a minor player.
With the West Londoners, the England international has won the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup. He seems to be moving closer to becoming Manchester United’s first summer acquisition.
