Argentina’s squad is ready for international fixtures. For their forthcoming international friendlies, Argentina’s 35-man squad includes Lionel Messi and Alejandro Garnacho. On March 23 and five days later, La Abiceleste will face off with Panama and Curaçao, respectively.
After the team won the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, there was much speculation about who would make Lionel Scaloni’s roster. Before the main event, Messi declared that this year’s World Cup in Qatar would be his last. The Paris Saint-Germain attacker, however, managed to get his paws on the prize and appears motivated to keep playing for a while.
In seven World Cup games, Messi scored seven goals and contributed three assists, earning the Golden Ball. He will play for and serve as captain of the Argentina squad against Curacao and Panama.
Garnacho, 18, was not included in Scaloni’s World Cup roster, however. Thiago Almada of Atlanta United was selected instead of the Manchester United teenager who was expected to fill in for Angel Correa at the last minute.
After being passed over for the World Cup, reports claimed that Garnacho was thinking about switching his loyalty to Spain. He is qualified to represent La Roja because his father is Spaniard.
Garnacho will attempt to continue his impressive season despite being included in Argentina’s squad for their forthcoming friendlies. In 27 games this season for Manchester United across all categories, he has four goals and five assists.
Argentina’s squad is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Franco Armani (River Plate), Geronimo Rulli (Ajax), Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa)

After winning the World Cup, Lionel Messi expressed his happiness. He described his impression that Argentina would win last year’s tournament. It’s just crazy that it became a fact in this manner, he said. I was so drooling over this. I had faith that God would give me this talent. I sensed that this World Cup was going to be it.
After attempting unsuccessfully in four previous editions prior to the campaign last year, Messi cemented his legacy in Qatar. The legendary forward played in the final match against France for the 26th time, breaking Lothar Matthaus’ mark.
La Abiceleste defeated Les Bleus 4-2 on penalties after a heart-pounding 3-3 draw in 120 minutes to win one of the best championship matches in tournament history. After netting a brace, Messi tucked away his penalty in a thrilling shootout.
