Leon Goretzka and Javi Martinez are uncertain for the Club World Cup and may be unavailable for Bayern Munich’s match with Hertha Berlin.
Leon Goretzka and Javi Martinez are both waiting for Bayern Munich to return the negative coronavirus samples so that they can resume first-team duty.
The midfield pair are likely to be absent once more for Friday’s Bundesliga match at Hertha Berlin, after checking positive for COVID-19 last week.
Head coach Hansi Flick reported, speaking at a pre-match news conference, while Goretzka needs to wait until Friday, Martinez’s self-isolation spell is expected to end on Wednesday.
“With Javi and Leon it is the case that we do a test after the quarantine, I can’t comment on that because I don’t have the results,” he said on a press conference.
“Javi has to take the test and then it will be determined if he still has the virus in his body. We have to wait from day to day.”
“We also know with Leon that it takes a few days longer. He also has to be tested, everything will depend on that.”
