Mark Lawrenson predicts Leicester vs Arsenal. When Arsenal travels to play Leicester City on Saturday, February 25, Mark Lawrence recently predicted an easy victory for the Gunners. The analyst still has his doubts about the Foxes and thinks Arsenal will come out on top, picking up all three points.
Despite having only two victories in their previous five games, Arsenal and Leicester City are far apart in the Premier League standings. The Foxes are currently sitting in 14th place, just four points above the relegation zone, while Arsenal is in the lead.
Lawrence predicted that Brendan Rodgers’ team played well against Manchester United but broke down after giving up a goal in his weekly forecast for Paddy Power. He predicted Mikel Arteta’s team would triumph, writing: “Leicester was excellent against Manchester United in the first half and forced David De Gea into a few good saves, but they eventually lost handsomely. I liked how Arsenal never gave up last week when playing Villa.
In the end, they received the benefits, but they worked for them. “Leicester is improving, but once they give up a goal, they crumble, so I’m still not persuaded. For me, it must be an Arsènal Victory. Arsenal 0–2 Leicester.” Arsenal is back in full confidence after their dramatic late victory over Aston Villa. At the very end, they were able to secure a 4-2 victory thanks to an own goal from their former star Emi Martinez and a goal on the break.
When questioned about Arsenal’s comeback victory over Villa, manager Mikel Arteta responded as follows: “I was very complimentary of how they responded, but we could have done better in the first half, especially with the way we played and controlled the match. We simply could not be down 2-1 at that point. We must act swiftly to apply these lessons, and we must perform much better and more consistently against Leicester if we are to win the match.”
Before their match this weekend, Arteta discussed the Foxes as follows: “In the games, they’ve played over the last few weeks, they’ve been remarkably steady. Brendan has indeed suggested a variety of very unique games at various points throughout the seasons, and they can adjust by using various playing formations and strategies. We are ready for either scenario because it is conceivable; let’s wait and see what they do tomorrow.”
