Chelsea is to be relegated from the Premier League. Chelsea’s loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium has raised the possibility that the Blues may be relegated this year. If the score at the Emirates stays 3-0, the Blues will only have 39 points from 33 games.
They are ahead of 18th-place Nottingham Forest by nine points. Therefore, Forest will need at least ten points, and the Blues will need to lose every game they have left to be relegated.
To prevent the Blues from being relegated, teams like Bournemouth (39), Wolverhampton Wanderers (37), and West Ham United (34) will also need to accrue more points than the West Londoners.
Since the league’s inception in 1992, Chelsea has never been demoted from the top division. But in 1987–88, they were demoted from English football’s top division.
Even though the Blues have dropped all six of their recent games, including four league games, they still appear certain to play in the Premier League next year.
Chelsea, according to Michael Owen, needs Harry Kane:
Chelsea is anticipated to make a summer transfer market raid in search of a new striker. The Blues still require a fix for their attacking problems despite signing David Datro Fofana in the winter transfer market.
Manchester United is anticipated to make a summer offer for Harry Kane. The Englishman has not yet won a title in his professional career, and many think Kane’s best chance of doing so is by leaving Tottenham.
Owen recently asserted (through HITC) the following about Kane’s prospective future locations: “How is it possible for Harry Kane to have a winless career? He plays the game so well. There is only one issue. Which club is that? He is a must-have for Chelsea. Their center-forward is needed. I don’t think he’ll go there.”
The Blues undoubtedly have the resources to get any player in the world. The club is, however, in the middle of being rebuilt. The favorite to succeed Jurgen Klopp as a manager in the summer is Mauricio Pochettino.
It remains to be seen if Kane finds the thought of seeing his former management tempting enough.
