Zinedine Zidane, according to Thierry Henry, is holding out to lead France rather than his previous team Juventus. For the first time in nine years, Juventus was eliminated from the Champions League group stages on Tuesday night, placing additional pressure on manager Massimiliano Allegri. Some have called for Zidane to take over as the Italian coach because of how drastically underwhelming he is performing, and because the Old Lady is currently seventh in Serie A. Henry disputes this idea and claims that his former France teammate is holding out for a position on the national squad.
Henry claimed that Zizou Zidane won the Champions League when speaking on CBS Sports following Juventus’ elimination from the competition. Zizou demonstrated his ability to join a team like Juventus. He’s shown that he can triumph at a major club. If Zidane could win at Juventus, I won’t go there. I believe he is anticipating the France national team. I won’t go there, for that reason.
With Real Madrid, he won three Champions League titles. When the national team is available, why bother with other clubs? Numerous clubs have mentioned him, but nothing has ever materialized. Zizou probably wouldn’t want to do it, but this is just my opinion. He could actually want to do it. But it makes perfect sense to me that he would be waiting for the national team.
After departing Real Madrid in May 2021, Zidane recently hinted that he was close to returning to management, but he withheld any further information. Reporters would have to wait to find out what happened, he added, adding that he would shortly return to management. Paris Saint-Germain has also been mentioned as a possible destination for Zidane, so only time will tell where he ends up, but perhaps we won’t have to wait too long to see him on the sidelines once more.
