Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta may be the choice for Real Madrid. Mikel Arteta, the boss of Arsenal, appears to have ruled out moving to Real Madrid. With Arsenal, the Spaniard is in charge of an outstanding campaign. With 20 victories in 26 league games, they currently hold the league’s top spot.
According to reports, Madrid is considering Arteta as a possible Carlo Ancelotti successor. Despite ties to Real Madrid, Arteta has stated that he is happily leading the Emirates. Through football.london, he stated: “Managers and players do not influence what is written about them. I can tell that I’m committed to my work at this football team and that I’m incredibly grateful and proud to be doing it. I’m done now.”
Arteta took over as the Gunners’ manager in 2019 and guided his team to the FA Cup in his debut campaign. He had a wild 2021–22 season in which Tottenham Spurs beat the north Londoners to fourth place in the league.
But Arsenal’s current campaign is shaping up to be a memorable one. In addition, Arteta has his team headed for their first league championship since 2004. Additionally, he has a thrilling offensive style of play in place and has rarely made a mistake in the transfer market. Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Jesus, Jorginho, and Leandro Trossard, among others, have all made excellent contributions to the cause.
As Ancelotti’s future seems unclear, several coaches have been connected to Real Madrid. According to reports, he is the favorite to succeed Tite as head coach of Brazil’s national squad. The Italian’s Los Blancos contract ends in 2024.
After the current campaign, Asensio’s Real Madrid deal will expire, and the Spaniard has turned down the club’s initial offer of renewal. Only ten of the 31 games he has started this season across all categories have been under Ancelotti. He has six goals and five helpers under his belt.
Asensio is approaching the end of his deal, so prospective suitors are considering their options. They include Arsenal, who, according to SPORT, are reportedly interested in signing the Spanish attacker if he decides against extending his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ancelotti doesn’t know if Asensio would agree to a fresh contract with Madrid. Through SportsMole, he stated: “I’m not yet certain if he’ll remain or not. We have some very significant challenges this season, and he is helping, so I’m not overly worried about him because he has a contract. Together with the team, he will choose wisely.”
During his tenure at the Madrid, Asensio has won the UEFA Champions League five times and La Liga three times. He has made 266 appearances across all categories for the Spanish powerhouses, tallying 55 goals and providing 29 assists.
