Chelsea to hold Victor Osimhen’s summer move. According to reports, Chelsea has decided to put a hold on its pursuit of Napoli attacker Victor Osimhen. After his summer loan at Inter Milan expires, the Blues are willing to give Romelu Lukaku another chance.
The Blues believe it will be challenging to get Osimhen since Napoli is well-positioned to demand an astronomical amount, according to a report in Football Insider. Following reports that the Serie A club had demanded €160 million for the Nigerian star, the transfer was made.
Osimhen has been outspoken about his desire to compete in the Premier League. Earlier this year, he stated to Sky Sports: “I think it’s an incredible experience for me to be playing in one of the top five leagues in the world. The Premier League is often regarded as the best and strongest league in the world, but I currently play in the Italian Serie A, one of the best leagues in the world.”
“I’m working incredibly hard to ensure that I one day realize my dream of competing in the Premier League, but as I said, it’s a process, and I just want to keep on this momentum and keep doing well.”
To help Napoli win the Serie A championship, the striker scored 23 goals in 27 games this season.
Ian Wright encourages Chelsea to recruit Victor Osimhen:
Ian Wright, a former player for Arsenal, has encouraged Chelsea to pursue Victor Osimhen. He thinks the Blues will make a bid for the forward since they will need goals in the upcoming campaign.
According to Metro, he stated on the Ringer FC podcast: “I wonder where he will ultimately wind up. If Chelsea was responsible, I wouldn’t be shocked. I believe they’ll try to capture him.”
Romelu Lukaku, according to Wright, has a high chance of being given another opportunity at the club. He added: “Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wants him back, according to the rumor around town. He has a tonne of unfinished business to take care of in this area. If I were him, I would be thrilled to hear that I’m returning so that I may silence a few people. He must carry out that. He must make an effort for himself.”
Mauricio Pochettino, the former manager of Tottenham Hotspur, is apparently close to being named the next manager of the Blues, and an announcement could be made this week.
