Kalidou Koulibaly has acknowledged that this season has not been his finest. He was eager to point out that he is gradually getting back to his best, though.
Football.london reported that he said: “I know I’m not 100% yet, but think I’m getting close to my level. Chelsea made a significant decision to sign me [for £33 million last summer], and I have a strong desire to repay them. I intend to stay a long time in this club. Chelsea did not anticipate this year, but when there are significant changes, new owners, and a new half of the team, everyone must adjust. However, we are aware of the scope of the endeavor and will make every effort to restore the supporters’ faith.”
The defender has so far made 31 appearances for Chelsea in various leagues, contributing to one goal and scoring two himself. If he decides to stay at Stamford Bridge beyond this summer, he will hope to deliver far better results the next season.
