Newcastle United asks £87 million for Bruno Guimaraes. According to reports, Bruno Guimaraes, who has recently been linked to Manchester United and Barcelona, is expected to fetch around £87 million from Newcastle United.
Since moving to Newcastle from Lyon for an initial cost of £37 million in 2022, Guimaraes, 25, has established himself as a regular starter for the first team. This season, he has assisted them in securing their 20-year absence from the UEFA Champions League.
The 10-cap Brazil international, a right-footed technical player gifted with passing and vision, has drawn a lot of interest as a result of his recent strong performances. The two favorites are seen as Barcelona and Manchester United.
In addition to the teams mentioned above, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is eager to sign the midfielder. Newcastle is reportedly reluctant to let Guimaraes go this summer because of his significance to their team. In order to turn away interest from Barcelona, Manchester United, and PSG, they have set a price of £87 million.
Eddie Howe’s team has begun the process of finding prospective replacements even though they would love to keep the Brazilian player. They want to use the incoming money to bolster several positions.
Guimaraes, whose contract with Manchester United runs through June 2026, would be a wise acquisition. He would take Christian Eriksen’s place in the starting lineup and team up with Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro to form a potent troika.
The young Athletico Paranaense player would take Sergio Busquets’ place in Barcelona’s lineup for the upcoming season. In 39 appearances for the Magpies so far this season, Guimaraes has five goals and as many assists.
‘Wasted talent’ 26-year-old Barcelona player wanted by Manchester United:
Previous Manchester United striker Louis Saha suggested that during the forthcoming summer transfer window, his previous team should make an effort to pursue Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele. He clarified:
They ought to investigate it because it would be a good deal. I’m looking for forwards who are sure things will work out, and Dembele provides both. But it’s disheartening that he hasn’t yet realized his full potential.
Saha continued, voicing his honest assessment of the 35-cap France international’s unrealized potential: “Because he is so good and unique, I think he may have been a wasted talent. When Jadon Sancho and Ousmane are battling against one another, that is an actual magic competition. It would create a sensation.
Since joining the Catalan giants from Borussia Dortmund in a move worth up to £120 million in 2017, Dembele, 25, has been a consistent starter. He has so far assisted them in winning seven medals, including his third La Liga championship this year.
In 183 games for the La Liga champions, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has tallied 40 goals and 41 assists overall.
